Anna Frolova

     Anna started dancing at the age of 5 in the Barvinochok ensemble in Kyiv. At age 6, Anna attended the choreographic school at the Pavlo Virsky National Dance Ensemble of Ukraine for 8 years. In 2002, she entered the choreographic studio at the Virsky Ensemble where she studied for 2 years. In 2003, at the age of 16, Anna was accepted into the Pavlo Virsky National Academic Dance Ensemble of Ukraine where she was taught by teachers who worked with Pavlo Virsky himself. Anna’s professional career in Virsky spanned 22 years during which time she performed in concerts and was featured in leading solos.

     In addition to dancing, Anna also studied at the State Academy of Management of Culture and Arts of Ukraine starting in 2004. She received a bachelor's degree in the specialty of "choreographer-teacher of a folk-dance ensemble". In 2018, Anna received the honorary title “Honored Artist of Ukraine” for her significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian choreographic art. Over the past 10 years, Anna has been invited to conduct numerous Ukrainian Dance master classes, rehearsals and technique classes for both adult and children’s dance ensembles. She has worked with children aged 5 to 14 teaching not only dance, but also cheerleading and rhythmic gymnastics.

     In 2025, Anna retired from the Virsky Ensemble and emigrated to Canada. After moving to Edmonton, Anna teaches virtuoso technique and folk choreography at the Shumka School. Currently, Anna is also the Artistic Director of the Vohon Ensemble.

Anna will be teaching at the Beverly Studio (Saturday), Chobitok (Saturday) and Ballet.

Vanessa Wiebe

Vanessa Wiebe has been a dedicated member of the Cheremosh Ukrainian Dance Company for 16 years and counting, fostering a lifelong passion for Ukrainian dance, performance, and cultural tradition. In 2025, she earned her Junior Ballet Teacher Certification, further expanding her technical knowledge and teaching expertise.

For the past 8 years, Vanessa has taught Ukrainian dance to students of all ages and skill levels, from young beginners taking their first steps to experienced dancers refining their technique. She is passionate about creating classes that are both challenging and enjoyable, helping dancers develop strength, artistry, and strong technical foundations while building confidence and a love for dance.

Vanessa strives to cultivate a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment where every dancer feels supported, valued, and encouraged to reach their full potential. Her teaching approach focuses on fostering personal growth, teamwork, and skill development through positive encouragement, ensuring that dancers leave each class feeling empowered, accomplished, and excited to continue their dance journey.

Whether working with recreational dancers or those pursuing advanced training, Vanessa is committed to helping every student grow both as a dancer and as an individual while celebrating the joy and spirit of Ukrainian dance.
