Participant Information and Registration

The Festival will take place at the Orange Hub, Performance Theatre, 10045 156 St NW in Edmonton, Alberta. The dates for this year's Festival are Wednesday, March 19 to Sunday, March 23, 2025.

Note these Important Dates: 

January 31, 2025: Final deadline for entry submission. Entries must be completed within our registration system by 11:59 PM on this date. This date will be strictly enforced as late submissions delay the release of the final schedule. Any registrations received after the deadline will be subject to the late fee policy as outlined below.

The late fee payment for registering entries is as follows:

  • For every day late a $10.00 (CAD) fee will be added per entry and must be paid prior to performing in the Festival.

*Any changes in entry (i.e., group size from 16 to 14 dancers) or cancellation of an entry MUST be done before January 17, 2025. The studio will still be obligated to pay the FULL entry amount if changes are done after this date.

  • Summary Sheets and Entries will only be accepted through the online registration system. 
  • The Festival will do its best to address requests; however, the Festival is not obliged to accommodate all requests, as the schedule must maintain a degree of structure with respect to the categories.
  • All entry requests must be done through the online system. 
  • All email subject lines must read “Cheremosh Dance Festival 2025”. Please email entry form questions to festival@cheremosh.ca.

Festival Schedule Release Dates: 

February 7, 2025: The final schedule will be released to allow schools to notify their dancers and parents. If emergency situations/cancellations arise, the final schedule will NOT be changed, but the MC will announce the change during the festival.

Festival Payment:

After you register for our festival, our coordinators will email an invoice in February. After you have received your invoice for Festival Fees, you can pay online by clicking HERE to access the online payment form. Online payment options include PayPal and Credit Card.

If paying by cheque, mail your cheque to Cheremosh Studio (4005-115 Avenue, Edmonton AB T5W 0V1). Cheques can be made out to Ukrainian Cheremosh Society.

Our primary objective is to provide an opportunity for participants to perform and further their dance education. The atmosphere of the Cheremosh Dance Festival is to always be a positive learning experience.

Here we have posted some useful information for participants, families, friends, and the public:

General: 

  • Admission into the theatre to watch the performances is free, and open to the public.
  • Official programs will be available for purchase at the merchandise table
  • No one will be allowed to enter or leave the auditorium while participants are dancing or during adjudication.
  • Audience members must be seated at all times while in the auditorium.
  • The use of flash photography, video cameras, or any recording devices is strictly prohibited in the auditorium. Violators of this rule will be escorted out of the theatre. The participant(s) whose routine was recorded may be subject to disqualification.
  • Parents and non-participants (with the exception of instructors) are not allowed backstage at any time during the festival.

Dancers:

  • Rehearsals on stage will not be permitted. Practice may take place in the rehearsal hall on a first-come, first-serve basis, with consideration for other participants and time-constraints.
  • All participants must be ready to perform at least one adjudication (approximately 30 minutes) prior to their scheduled time, at which point they will be escorted by the designated volunteer from the rehearsal hall to backstage.
  • All decisions made by the adjudicator will be final.

  • Special rates for hotel rooms may be available, contact the festival coordinator.
