Edmonton, AB – Edmonton’s internationally acclaimed Cheremosh Ukrainian Dance Company is returning to Ukraine for a unique 18-day tour of the cities of Kyiv, L’viv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi and Obuhiv.
For the first time, a Canadian Ukrainian dance ensemble will join forces with professional ensembles in Ukraine to create collaborative Ukrainian dance performances in each of the above mentioned cities. Read more…

EDMONTON – Chester Kuc stumbled onto a simple recipe for joy.
“All you need is a candle, wax and a stylus and an egg,” Kuc said of writing pysanky, the elaborate beeswax etchings that became the mania of his retirement years.
In workshops and classrooms, he’d freely pass it on to others. “I think anyone can do it. Practice makes perfect.”

Edmonton’s internationally acclaimed Cheremosh Ukrainian Dance Company participated in the European Championship of Folklore July 8-18, 2011 in Nessebar, Bulgaria.
Cheremosh Ukrainian Dance Company was the only representative from North America, and they took home the Grand Prix “Golden Orpheus” plaque and title Absolute European Champion of Folklore for 2011. Company Artistic Director Mykola Kanevets also got an award; a diploma for Maestro Academic. Read more…
