Our Cheremosh crew – dancers equipped with tool belts and paint cans – welcomed guests to our construction-themed Benefit & Ball held at Chateau Louis Conference Centre on October 24. Construction signs, hard hats, tape measures … all contributed to the unique, building-inspired evening. Guests included Cheremosh Founders – Chester and Luba Kuc, Artistic Director – Mykola Kanevets and family, Honourable Gene Zwozdesky, numerous Cheremosh Alumni, Past Presidents of the Society, family, and friends in the community – cornerstones of our past and the foundation for our future.
‘Coffee Break Entertainment’ during the Construction Schedule included a performance by Cheremosh Ukrainian Dance Company and live music by Millenia Musical Ensemble.
Silent auction included unveiling of “Once a Kozak …” – a male-themed, Cheremosh-inspired original painting by Larisa Sembaliuk Cheladyn. This artwork is second in the series commissioned by Cheremosh and is the perfect compliment to “Embroidered Memories” which was showcased at Benefit & Ball 2007. Limited edition lithographs are now available.
Special thanks to our 60+ donors who made this evening possible. Sincere appreciation to our creative Benefit & Ball Committee: Sacha Belseck, Morgan Demers, Adriana Koziak, Leanne Koziak, Melania Koziak, Debbie Koziak-Koper, Dean Krawchuk, Brooke Miller, Phil Sembaliuk, Gail Wacko, Patty Wacko, Michele Wygera-Schuster, Karen Zarsky. These Cheremosh Alumni, current Cheremosh dancers, and Society parents passionately donated countless hours organizing the Building Plan for this tremendous event! Proceeds designated to future Ukrainian Cheremosh Society travel and endeavours.
Thank you for building with us!
